Spring has come in my garden.!!
今日は天気も良く、気持ちよいですね。先週から花が一斉に咲き始めました。気が付くと庭にはだいこんの花で紫の絨毯が広がっています。　今年の庭で気付いたのはボケの花があったこと。
椿も数種類・・きれいです。季節ごとに発見のある庭。気に入っています。 

先日はＨＡＮＮＡ-絆和-にて星野美加さんによる天然石のアクセサリー手作りレッスン。　
私も参加してみました。
今回は初心者コース・１粒天然石のペンダントネックレス。さて、どんな色にしようかな～～というところから始めます。
今回は朱赤のカーネリアン、ジャスパーなどを選んでみました。　　
The other day, I had natural stone accessory lesson at my gallery HANNA. I entered myself for this time. The course was for beginners, we made a pendant-like necklace. We chose colors at first.
I picked vermilion with carnelian and Jasper stones.

次に、自分の好きな並びに、石を並べていきます。　ここが意外と難しい！！センスも問われるし、石を並べる順番で印象もガラリと変わるのです。参加してくれた生徒さんも先生とよ～く相談しながら慎重に。。
Next, lay out the stones as you like. This point is not as simple as it seems! You'll need a good sense although atmosphere can change easily by how you lay them out. Other students were taking time to ask the instructor about it carefully.

そこでＭｅ・・・やっぱり「普通」じゃもの足りないんですね。。左右非対称にしてみました。そして、今のヘアスタイルが短めなので、襟あしにもポイントになるように、後ろもちょっと大きめの石並びに。
そして紐を通し、工具やパーツをつなげて出来上がり。　
About me?... I'm always picking something not normal. So I made an asymmetric one. And also lay little-bit bigger stones on back side since I wanted to have a point for back of neckline because I have shorter hair now. Then thread them by using parts and tools.

わいわいお喋りや悩みながらやっているとあっという間の２時間。　
こんなんできました～♪　可愛いでしょ！！←これは参加者作品。　
その日参加の方は、母の日のプレゼントで、お母さん用に作ったのだけど、ご自分でも気に入ってしまってる様子。ウフフ　
We spent 2 hours so quickly for class and chatting. And voila! Isn't it cute?! Other students were making for present for mother's day, but seems she likes so much her self.

翌日の花見、帽子のアクセントにピンでつけてみたら、これもピッタリ～～☆使い方はさまざまです☆ウレシ♪
I took it with hanami -picnic next day as a my hat ribbon. It is nice! It can be used in many ways

先日の夜。　２Ｆに居た旦那さまから、１Ｆで仕事をしていた私に携帯電話。
The other night, when I was working on 1st floor of the house, I got cell phone call from my husband at 2nd floor.

ダンナさま　「今、屋根の上に猫がいるよ！！窓から見てみて！！」
Husband: 'Look from the window! there is a cat on our roof!!!'

Ｍｅ　「確かに物音したね～」
Me : 'Uuum yah, I heard something.'

ダンナさま　「うわっっ！！！違う！！猫じゃない！！　なんだあれ！？！」
Husband: ' Waaooo!! It isn't cat!!! what hell is that!! ?'

Ｍｅ:　「なにかいるのは分かるけど、とりあえず今仕事途中なの・・・」　
Me: '　Yeah, seems like something in there...but I'm working right now, sorry'

それから２階で騒ぐ旦那さまの声が家中に。。　写真を撮ったらしく、見てみたら確かに・・・猫じゃない。
猫よりも、もっと大きく、シッポが長く、鼻先がとがっている。
Then I could hear something he was carrying on about that and took some pictures.
Actually, it isn't cat. It has a longer tail and pointier nose.

写真から推測＆周囲の人に聞いたところ、「ハグビシン」のよう。屋根裏に住んでるのか。。
Some people said that could be a 'masked palm civet'. It might be living in the roof of our house.

私は始めは「へぇ～」と思ったけれど、今は少し忙しい時ということもあり、後回しの問題。
At first, I thought 'wow...' but I was so busy at that time so I couldn't think that is urgent problem now.

旦那様・・もちろんアメリカでは見た時ないし、それから毎晩「ハクビシン・・」と大騒ぎ。　だいぶエキサイトしています。　物音すると、嫌なのか、嬉しがってるのか分かりません。　
My husband...He of-course hasn't seen in US so he has been making a fuss since then. Seems like he is excited about it. I wonder that he doesn't like it or is happy (exciting a lot).

宇都宮の友人の家の庭にもハクビシンが出没する話を聞いてる私には、それほど驚かない事。
Actually, I am not so surprising with it because I have heard that they appear in my friend's garden in Utsunomiya-city, too.
　
それより、旦那さまの弟の家（アメリカ・コロラド州）近所の川辺の木に、ビーバーのカジッた跡を見て、エキサイトしていた私の感覚なのでしょうね・・・。　
Instead, I was so excited that there were nibbled marks on trees at the side of the river nearby my husband's brother's house in Colorado in US. Those marks were made by beavers. That might be similar feeling with my husband now.

今の家との出逢いとタイミングも不思議でしたが、住み始めてからまた不思議で、そしてありがたい出会いが沢山あります。
偶然か必然か？家が引き寄せてくれているのか・・・。
そして出逢った方達のおかげで、日に日にもっと、この家が好きになっています。
Since we moved to this new house, we have had many marvelous and thank-heavens encounters.
Is it chance or necessity? May the house pull them to us...?
And thanks to those people, they make me like this house more and more day by day.

月末にお家の引っ越しをすることにしました。
今日は新居の様子を見に行ってみました。　ここちらが玄関の軒先電灯。

実は新居・・といっても、築８０年以上の家。はい、かな～～りオールドです。でも惚れ込んでしまったので仕方なし（笑）

We have decided to move house at the end of this month.
We went to the new house for just checking today. This is the entrance light.
Actually, the new house was built over 80 years ago. Yes, veeeeery old!. But, we found that we like, so it was no choice. haha

そこで気になっていた、畳。家の殆どの部屋が畳なのです。畳に対しての知識がなく、きっと表替えか、新物に交換かな・・・、でもあまりお金もかけられないし・・・。どうしよう。と不安を抱えていたので、畳屋さんに見てもらって相談することにしました。
信頼のおけそうな畳屋さんを探して問い合わせしてみたら、すぐに来て畳を上げて見てもらえました。
私は診断を待ちながらも、見積もり費用がいくらになるか心配。。
We were concerned about the tatami mats (straw mat). Most of rooms are tatami mats. We don't have any knowledge about tatami, so we were worried that 'do we have to change all of them? or change the outside covers?' but we can't pay so much money on tatami... We decided to ask to tatami shop. I searched for reliable tatami shop and asked, then a tatami shop man came to the house and checked the tatami mats for us. During that time, I was waiting for his diagnostic and was nervous about how much the quotation going to be.

そこで畳屋さんから出た言葉。「いや～、この畳。手を加えなくて良いと思います。」
Then, he said "Uuuummm, I don't think you need work on these tatami"

Ｍｅ:　「えっ？古くないのですか？」　
" What?!? Are they not old?

「かなりの年数が経っているのでやはり老朽化はしています。ですが状態も良いし、品物が最高級の畳で作られていますね。勿論取り替えもできますが、これと同じものにするとなると、かなりの金額にもなります。それよりも、表面の傷みも少ないし、まだ大切に使えます。なんといっても、今では見られない、手縫いのものなんです。博物館級です（笑）　大切に使われてきたから、もう少し使ってみましょう。畳下の床板も、家の保存状態も良いですね。」写真は手縫いの裏面。
'Yes, they are very old and of course getting run down, but conditions are good and made with high quality straw. Of-course you can change new, too, and will be good. But it will be a high cost if you want to have same quality with now. Rather they could use with good care since they haven't had big damages. And like I said, these are made by hand so these are not common now. It is like a museum piece. How about to use for a while and will see, since they have been cared well. Although flooring under the tatami mat, they seems fine since the house is well preserved."　Picture of the back of tatami, you can see it is hand made.

あららら・・・。博物館級？　ooh-la-la...like a museum piece?!

ということで、防虫処理等のクリーニング処理のみをしてもらうことに。
So, finally we decided that the tatami will have just treatment for protection from insects and cleaning.

なんだかホっとしたというか、なんというか、意外な展開に驚き。　
I feel like I was relieved or something and surprised at the unexpected development.

なんとも良心的、知識豊富な畳屋さん。きっと、「はい、古いから全部交換です」と言われても・・・チ～～ン・・知識の無い私達には分からなかったでしょうね。
この畳屋さんとの出会いにも、ホッとしました。　
ちなみにこちらの畳屋さん、畳ドクターや、一級技能士、全国選手権で最優秀賞受賞経歴もある方でした。
畳と畳屋さんに、ほっこりな日でした。　
How conscientious and well-knowledge the tatami shop man. I probably worry or paid money if he said ' These are very old and you should change all of them immediately!' because of we have no-idea about tatami-mats and how to care of them.
So I was relieved to have met this tatami shop man. Actually, his name-card inscribed with the title, tatami-doctor, first-class technicians and career of highest award at national title.
It was helpful and a warm day with tatamis and the tatami shop man.
