先日、ある知人が楽天イーグルス監督の野村克也さんの講演会に行ってきたそうです。それについてのコメントをもらったのですが、よいことを教えていただきました
概略にはなりますが。。

野村さんのお話を聞いてきました。
話を聞いて思ったことは、監督自身が相当に書物にも通じているということ。
やはり勝負の世界で生きてきた人ですので、いかに勝つか？の哲学は我々が考える以上に深く掘り下げたものでした。
たぶん宮本武蔵の五輪の書の内容、古代中国の兵法孫子なども読破されていることでしょう。
唯一、野球の中で、野手全員が見える「捕手」というポジションにいたことから余計にそのような「いかにすれば、打たれないか？＝勝てるか？」の研究が進んだのでしょうね。
野村さんが言っていた言葉の一つに以下のようなものがありました。
人間は３人の（適切な表現を忘れました）友を持てと。
・師と呼べる先生
・原理・原則・道理を言ってくれる人
・耳に痛いことも直接言ってくれる人
監督としては
・固定観念は悪である。
・先入観は罪である。
と述べていましたね。
そして監督は（かなり大まかな記憶ですが）
・意外なところから（選手を）その気にさせるヒントを与える・・・選手の意識を変える。
講演会で感じたことは一流の野球人であるとともに、人間の心理解読などにも精通した（昔で言えば軍師みたいな）人でしたね。
ぼやきも沢山でましたが、それは講演会にきていたお客さんへのリップサービスだったと思いますよ。でも、ぼやきも面白かったですね～～。。

The other day, one of my friendｓ went to a lecture. The speaker was a famous former manager of the Rakuten Golden Eagles professional baseball team in Japan, Mr. Nomura Katsuya. My friend e-mailed me comments about the lecture. I like the words and thought them fruitful so I decided to post in this blog.
This is a kind of sketch.

I went to Mr Nomura's lecture. What I thought is, Mr Nomura is knowledgeable about books. His philosophy of 'How to win the game' digs deeper into it more than one thinks.
Maybe he has read through the 'Book of Five Rings' by Musashi Miyamoto and 'Sun Tzu's Art of War'. I guess that is why he studies "How to avoid getting hammered = How to win?", since he has been on the position of catcher where only he is able to see all of the players' positions in a baseball game.
Some of the things he said:
Recommend to have 3 kinds of friends.
* A teacher you could call your mentor.
* A person who tells you Principle, Criterion and Logic.
* A person who gives you a number of difficult opinions.
As a team manager:
*The fixed idea is an evil and the preconceived idea is a crime.
*Give someone the idea of a hint like dropping from the clouds- change a player's awareness.
What I felt from the lecture is Mr Nomura is a one of the greatest baseball players and is also
knowledgeable about psychological strategy.
His sarcastic complaints were good too, it was fun for the audience.....

P.S. Nomura Katsuya, a former manager of the Rakuten Golden Eagles, known for
boyaki, meaning sarcastic complaints.
